Observation Request and Products

    Announcement of Observation Requests for
    the Total Anthropogenic and Natural emissions mapping SpectrOmeter-3 (TANSO-3) onboard
    the Global Observing SATellite for Greenhouse gases and Water cycle (GOSAT-GW)

    　We would like to announce observation requests for the Total Anthropogenic and Natural emissions mapping SpectrOmeter-3 (TANSO-3) onboard the Global Observing SATellite for Greenhouse gases and Water cycle (GOSAT-GW), which is scheduled to be launched in the first half of the fiscal year 2025.

    　Observations from TANSO-3’s Focus Mode will be made based on observation requests. Please refer to the “Handling Policy of Observation Requests for the Total Anthropogenic and Natural emissions mapping SpectrOmeter-3 (TANSO-3) onboard the Global Observing SATellite for Greenhouse gases and Water cycle (GOSAT-GW)” for details.

    　The schedules for accepting observation requests and releasing products of TANSO-3 are as follows:

  • - Observation requests will be accepted four months after the launch of GOSAT-GW. (Actual observations will be made about 1.5 months after the acceptance.)
  • - The trial version of L1B products will be pre-released six months after the launch of GOSAT-GW.*
    * A non-disclosure agreement must be concluded in advance with the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) through the Japan GHG Center Preparation Office at NIES.
  • - L1B products will be released to the public 10 months after the launch of GOSAT-GW.
  • - L2 products will be released to the public 22 months after the launch of GOSAT-GW.
